The Sustainiac Aux-JS board connects to the main circuit boards by pre-wired harnesses. This eliminates much installation labour. It also makes the end product more consistent, and greatly reduces the chance that uncontrolled squealing (oscillation) or “grunge” in the guitar signal due to crosstalk from certain Sustainiac wires to the guitar signal wires. In fact we think this will make the typical Sustainiac installation so much easier for customers that this will become the most popular installation option.
The Aux-JS board is installed into Joe Satriani’s signature Ibanez guitars, including the JS2480, JS1CR and the JS240PS models.
It is a good option for customers who want to install into their own JS model, or any other brand or model of guitar with a SH pickup configuration.
The Aux-JS board has a toggle switch for the three position Sustainiac Harmonic Mode, and push-pull tone control for ON/OFF. A tone capacitor is mounted to the board. The wire harness set supplied with the Aux-JS boards is just long enough to connect to the controls of the JS guitars. Not recommended for other guitar models unless a similar control arrangement is present. Custom wiring harness sets can be ordered, but these are special orders and as such, take a bit of time to process.
The Aux-JS board dimensions are:
2.2 in. (56mm) wide x 1.35 in. (35mm) tall. The board requires 1.35 in. (35mm) cavity depth. The distance between the tone pot and the toggle switch is 1.55 in. (29.5mm). The toggle switch and the tone pot both require a 0.28 in. (7mm) hole.
